Acute Pain Management - Acute pain is temporary and is related to the physical sensation of tissue damage. It can last from a few seconds to several months. It generally subsides as healing occurs.

Botox®/Myoblock® Therapy for Pain - Utilized for muscles contracting abnormally. The medications disrupt the nerve to the muscle for about three to six months. Botox®/Myoblock® injections also have cosmetic applications.

Chronic Pain Management - Chronic pain lingers long beyond the time of normal healing. It is pain that generally continues for six months or more and does not respond well to conventional medical treatment. Some chronic pain is due to damage or injury to nerve fibers. This type of pain starts as acute pain and then develops into neuropathic pain and becomes chronic. Nerves continue to send pain messages even though there is not continuing tissue damage taking place.

EMG/NCS - Electrodiagnosis. Electrical testing of muscles and nerves to detect problems such as muscle disease, pinched nerves, or nerve injuries.

Epidural Steroid Injections - An injection can help relieve low back pain by reducing inflammation. An injection can also help the doctor diagnose the source of your pain by numbing certain areas of your back.

Independent Medical Exams - IME’s are similar to second opinions. However, the patient’s overall medical condition is evaluated versus a specific diagnosis. Often disability ratings are involved.

Low Back Pain Management - Low back pain affects up to 80% of adults at some point in their lives. The costs of low back pain are difficult to estimate but likely to be in the high billions annually. It is the second leading cause for all physician visits and the leading cause of worker disability.

Second Opinions - Many patients and insurance companies use second opinions to verify a previous diagnosis.
